Finishing Up the Bathroom

Well, the kids bath is finally finished! Almost anyway....

I painted the cabinets and put on new hardware, then we waited. And waited. And waited for the granite to be installed. Long story short, we ended up taking matter into our own hands, and finally....




We got granite! Finally is right!

New sinks were installed with it, then we had the plumber come install the new faucets....






Last finishing touches....adding new mirrors. This is the smaller one over the single vanity and I still have 2 larger ones to be hung over the double vanity. I will put an updated pic as soon as that's done. I have to boast for a second on my mirror finds....Kirkland's for $30 each!!!!



For the most part, it is finished. A little accessorizing, and we'll be set. It has been a long and drawn out process, but well worth the wait!

Bathroom Renovation Progress

We have moved on to tackling the bathrooms in our renovation projects....what a process! We started with the kids/hall bath for now, and have plans for the other two hopefully in the near future.

Her are the pictures of the process during the renovation:

The took out the old tub and replaced with a new one, and tore out all the ugly tile surround as well as prepared the plumbing:



What a mess it was:



They replaced all of the surround with new hardy board and began tiling the surround:



They put in a shampoo box built into the wall with the mosaic accent:



Then, they ripped out all of the old flooring and replaced with new coordinating floor tiles:



And, then the grout was in.....



The completed tub and surround with new fixtures as well!...



A new shower curtain adds the final touch....



Vanity area with walls painted, floor tiles with grout and a few accessories....



We also tore out some old paneling and are in the process of replacing it with new bead board paneling. The walls are painted, but still need to paint the bead board, trim and cabinets.

And, the granite countertops still need to be installed with new sinks and faucets.

But it is well on it's way to looking like a usable bathroom!

Kitchen Progress

Since we have decided to wait on doing a full remodel of the kitchen, I started at least sprucing up the existing cabinets and walls to make it look a little nicer while we figure out exactly what it is we want to do in here. The simple fact is, kitchens are expensive. So, we want to live in ours for a little while to see exactly what we want to change and how everything flows.

To start with, I fixed up the wall where previous owners had closed in the door to the dining room, which we decided to leave closed off since we don't use that room as a dining room either.

That's where I'm at so far. It's definitely a start. I will move on to painting out the cabinets and the built in hutch as well as changing all the hardware and some decorating!

Boys Room

Here is the transformation of the boy bedroom. We painted, put in new blinds, window treatments , ceiling fan and carpet.

Living Room Transformation

Girl's Bedroom-Done!!!

Girl's bedroom--all finished and decorated. The only thing left to do here is hang the new blinds on the two big windows when they come in (have been special ordered).
