Living Room Transformation

Here is the sequence of the living room transformation from the day we bought the house until now. We painted, fixed up the fireplace, put in new ceiling fans and wood floors.

Girl's Bedroom-Done!!!

Girl's bedroom--all finished and decorated. The only thing left to do here is hang the new blinds on the two big windows when they come in (have been special ordered).

Laundry Room, Storage and A Few Updates

Recently, I have worked mostly on finishing up some of the rooms that were started on first. So, I focused on some storage and organization in order to get more boxes unpacked and things put away in an orderly manner.

Here are my new "storage lockers" in the laundry room. They will hold everything we need on a day to day basis, backpacks, sports stuff, dirty shoes, etc!



And, here is our family "hub" info center. Have to keep up with those busy schedules and make sure everyone is on the same page!:



I worked on one of the three storage closets in the hallway off of the laundry room. I still want to put more shelves in it, but I did manage to get my "teacher stuff" and our art supplies put away in here:



We also have done a little bit of updating in the lighting department. Here is an up close of the new fans in the living room:

And, here is the new fan in the master bedroom:


We also put new fans in the kids bedrooms, just plain white, as well as added some lighting in the laundry room.

That's about it for right now. I've devoted most of my time lately to getting us organized and trying to keep after the unpacking. We're working on some more updating soon, and will certainly put it here when done!

Entry Way

The entry way is coming along!

I fixed up the walls in the damaged areas, textured and painted. Then, put in new baseboards and painted the doors. Another just about completed project!

Photography Studio

I know I just posted recently about the painting of my photography studio, but now we have completed the floors. We decided to transplant the wood floors from the master bedroom into the studio.

So, here are the floors in the (very awful dark) master bedroom. ....


The floors have been removed from the master bedroom ... and the room is quite a bit brighter with the concrete ... just wait til we paint the walls and get carpet in there!!!!...

Here is the moisture barrier ready to lay the wood floors in the studio....

The floors are completed, just need baseboards and clean up!....

And, the finished product ......

I am very pleased with how these turned out, and LOVE my new photography studio! We moved the desk in today and I actually sit at it to type this post on my computer right now ... I have not had a place to use my laptop in many years! I love having an "office" to call my own, and cannot wait to display much of my photography in this room and get my backdrops set up, etc. So much fun!!!

Game Room

The game room is pretty much complete! Mostly, this room has entailed painting and taking down the blinds. It is also where we have purchased the most furniture.

Finally, the room completely painted, bookshelves for toys and games in place and lots of stuff put in ....

We also moved the "big TV" into this room, so now it is definately one of the most used rooms in the house. We still have a little decorating to do for it, but it is comfortable and cozy and keeps the kids toys contained. I am very pleased with how it turned out!
